Our Mission
The Malankara Orthodox Christian Society of Chicago endeavors to uphold and promote the cultural values, principles, and traditions of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Christians.
Our Purpose
The Organization’s purpose shall be for the enrichment of the spiritual, the social, and the
cultural lives of its membership, who uphold and promote all the traditions of the Malankara Orthodox Community headquartered in Kottayam in Kerala, India, by engaging in religious,
cultural, social and charitable activities and by creating and maintaining an environment
conducive and consistent with those traditions and to establish and maintain community facilities
for religious, educational, social, interfaith, and cultural and such other related activities.
Our Goals
To provide a venue for the Malankara (Indian) Orthodox Christians to meet and promote the traditions and values of Malankara Orthodox Christians.
To provide a platform for our children to learn and share our rich cultural heritage and language.
To provide a venue for members to showcase their talents through various cultural and social events.
To provide a forum for future generations to maintain ties with the wider Orthodox community.
To reach out to the needy and promote charitable endeavors both within and outside of the community.

Who are we
We are the laity members of the Malankara Orthodox churches of the Greater Chicagoland area who have come together to form the society.
Why a Society
To provide an organizational structure to meet the social, cultural, and community needs of the members.
Who can apply to be a member
To be eligible for General membership in the society, the applicant must be:
- 18 years or older
- A practicing laity Malankara Orthodox Syrian Christian
- A bona fide permanent resident or citizen of the United States in one of the following states: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri or Wisconsin
A US visa holder who meets the above criteria is eligible to become a member without voting rights.
